There are a variety of costs associated with the holding of an event at the Victoria Event Centre. These costs include the basic rental rate (see table below) and depending on your event, there might be additional costs relating to:
- Security Staff ($12/hr)
- Sound Tech ($17/hr)
- Cleaning Fee ($20 Flat Fee)
- Insurance (Optional, Sometimes Required)
Coat Check and Concession/Bar services and staff are provided and paid for by the Victoria Event Centre. Revenue from the bar, concession and coat check go towards paying for the service, product and staffing.

Discounts for Non-Profits
The VEC will offer discounts to non-profit and small arts groups where/when possible. Each month, there is a certain amount of in-kind sponosorship dollars allotted for this purpose. Please ask the GM if you qualify for this discount. The discount may range from 5-20% OFF of the base rental costs (noted above).
Special Rates and Packages are available for:
- Theatre Packages
- Non-profit societies.
- Events that run longer than one day.
- People/Organizations that would like to book a series of dates throughout the year.
What's Included in your Base Rental Rate:
- Use of the VEC venue (including green room, dance floor, stage, box office area)
- Use of the PA system
- Use of the Theatre and Dance floor lighting
- Coat Check Service and Staff
- Concession or Bar Service and Staff
- Use of most VEC equipment including tables and chairs (see Available Equipment Section for a list of our equipment). Mobile theatre risers and a run way (for fashion shows) have recently been constructed and are available for use.
- Support of VEC's GM in building a successful show/event.
- Some promotion of show/event is included (please ask for details).
What's not Included in your Base Rental Cost:
- Door Staff (when necessary)
- Sound Technician (can be provided at a cost of $17/hr)
- Insurance (Optional, with the occasion of sometimes being required)
- Cleaning Fee $20 Flat Fee
- Use of LCD Projector - $35 Flat Fee
